SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Works with Sales team on new business and the sale of sponsorships, experiential placement/permitting, private/public event spaces, and premium vendor spaces across the Tandem portfolio of properties.
- Develops a database of qualified leads and new clients through cold calling, research, referrals, email, and attendance at applicable networking opportunities.
- Pitches, negotiates, and closes new sponsorships, experiential placement/permitting, private/public event spaces, and premium vendor spaces based on goals and objectives developed by Sales Director and Vice President.
- Builds, maintains and strengthens client and vendor relationships to encourage increased business and minimize attrition.
- Prepares sales materials such as sales proposals and venue presentations.
- Assists Sales Director with corporate sponsorships as required, including prospecting and pitching new clients, renewing current sponsors, creating sales proposals and documents, playing an active role in the sales process and performing follow-up activities.
- Assists with or travel to client-specific events and maintains a solid presence at all required Corporate Functions.
- Attends on-site walk-throughs, site visits, meetings and events such as conferences and seminars as required.
- $45,000- $55,000 base salary plus commission

The Tandem Partnerships team is looking for a seasonal sponsorship sales assistant to assist the Sales Department in responding to sponsor and Premium Space customer needs on a daily basis during the annual Alameda County Fair.

Sales Assistant (Sponsorship)
OC Fair - Seasonal
Position Title: Sales Assistant (Sponsorship)
Rate of Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
Position Purpose:
Assists the Sales Department in responding to sponsor and premium space customer needs on a daily basis during the annual OC Fair. This is a seasonal/temporary position, not to exceed 119 days.
Essential Functions:
- Works in conjunction with the contracted sales team, responds to client needs during move-in and move-out including requests for maintenance assistance, security needs, and other special requests.
- Provides administrative support including generating reports, cataloging shipped items and assembling sponsor and premium space fulfillment packages.
- Ensures contracted requirements are fulfilled including proof of insurance forms, Megan’s Law documentation, hospitality tickets, parking passes, and credentials.
- Checks in with on-site sponsors and premium space clients on a regular basis throughout the day to ensure that all needs are being met.
- Elevate any escalated customer service issues from sponsors or premium space clients that extend beyond routine requests to the contracted Sales Supervisor.
- Act as runner to other service locations within the organization including Box Office, Admissions Compound, Carnival Office, Maintenance Yard, and Guest Relations/Guest Services Office.
- Moves and stores shipments of premium items or other sponsor-related printed materials.
- Photographs sponsor and premium space locations including exhibits, booths, signage, activations and other assets.
- Assists in developing sponsor wrap-up reports and other post-fair requests

Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid CA driver’s license necessary.
- Must be willing to complete OC Fair & Event Center cart safety training.
- Strong customer service abilities are a must.
- Excellent teamwork skills required.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Must be able to quickly learn the layout of the fairgrounds and general fair information.
- Ability to work outside the normal business day/week as demanded by events and programs.
- Must be able to work from April through September
Preferences:
- Previous experience with SalesForce.com a plus.
- Working knowledge of digital camera use preferred.
- Some college experience or equivalent education preferred.
